The Boring Stuff
We hate to bore you with it, but we have been told by some guys in suits and who try to look important that we have to allow you to see it, so theres no hidden and dodgy stuff going on. We have tried to make it as easy to follow as possible. You are more than welcome to contact us if you would like further clarification.
Coat & Condition
Additional charges will apply for the extra time and products involved in grooming neglected coats, in-particular those which require clipping off due to severe matting and for dogs whose temperament or health also requires more time to complete.
PLEASE NOTE: IF WE FIND YOUR DOGS COAT IS MATTED THERE WILL BE AN EXCESS CHARGE OF £10 PER 15 MINUTES SPENT ON THE TIME IT TAKES TO REMOVE AND GROOM THE NEGLECTED COAT. WE CANNOT OFFER DISCOUNTS TOWARDS THIS FEE.
This cost is to help maintain and clean the equipment we use to help remove the coat. In no means do we financially gain from the removal of a neglected coat.
As a salon which promotes Responsible Dog Ownership we do not de-matt neglected coats. This is very different to removing small knots, tangles and isolated matted hair from the coat which can be achieved quickly without causing anxiety, stress or pain.
Clipping off due to a neglected severely matted coat is not part of our general grooming services and cases will be assessed on an individual basis. If, after careful consideration for your dog's welfare this can be best achieved in the salon environment we will discuss the procedure and cost.
We abide by sector specific charters to demonstrate good practice this includes the 5 Freedom Acts.
Our aim is to educate the public about responsible dog ownership through guidance and advice.
The health and condition of a dogs coat and skin are the responsibility of the owner.
The emptying of anal sacs is something we do not practice. As this is classed as a medical procedure, we kindly suggest that this is best taken up with your vet. At most we can offer to check if they need emptying and advise on the best course of action for you to take.
Aggressive dogs are not accepted.
If we cannot safely complete your dog within the guidelines of the animal welfare act 2006 due to behaviour, aggressive or otherwise, we will call you to let you know. Fee’s will apply. If this is the case, behavioural training is normally recommended as a course of action for you to take.
This will be determined taking all factors into consideration. A well cared for dog which is maintained in a reasonable condition between grooming appointments and exhibits normal behaviour is usually the price shown on our individual Salon’s Price Guide. All dogs are assessed and priced individually and on an on-going basis. To find out more about our breed price guide, please click here
